Mary Jo Lasky Art

Photographing Mary Jo Lasky’s artistic portfolio posed intriguing challenges. The first involved showcasing her glass “screaming” portraits in primary colors with elevated presentation. We opted for a color-changing LED backlight, capturing the shifting colors of the paint alongside the light, a concept later incorporated into Lasky’s own showcase.

The second challenge centered around photographing a computer transformed into an underwater scene. To reveal the entire picture, we built a turntable, employing stop-motion techniques to capture it with subtle rotations, ensuring no reflections on the screen.

The third challenge involved capturing Lasky’s series of sketches on transparency sheets, meant to be layered with spacers for a dimensional effect. Due to reflections, we experimented with GIFs and a flat lay, positioning the pieces side by side. Embracing the challenges, we’re proud of the creative results achieved in this project.
